Hello folks,

In the near future (January or February), I will be setting up a 20 gallon long/75 liter long (or 30 gallon/113 liter) tank.  I would like my stock to be some kind of corydoras and small tetras.

The dimensions for the 20 gallon long is 30"x12"x12"/76cm x 30cm x 30cm.  The 30 gallon is 36"x12"x16"/91cm x 30cm x 40cm.

What kind of cories that don't get too far over 5 cm would be good in there?  What kind of small tetras would be good?  Do you think rummynose tetras would have enough swimming space in a 76cm long tank?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I think Rummy's would be fine, they are a good addition to any tank :)

Have you thought about having dwarf Corys? You would be able to have a big school of them.

I have thought about dwarf cories.  Problem is, I have never seen them in any fish store around where I am.  My only option to get them is online, which I've never done am a little scared to do!

They might be under a different name as there are a few different types of dwarf cory. If you cant find them you could always choose panda corys they dont get bigger than 5cm.

Okay, that's fine.
I'm sure you would be safe ordering online though, as long as it was a reputable dealer/shipper.

I agree with Haleem about the Panda Corys, they would be the next best :)

Nice, I know my LFS will take requests, obviously I'm on a different side of the world but perhaps they could look out from some for you if you did want them. I'm new to the fish keeping side, but always held an interest.

I've heard very mixed reviews about buying online. a friend of mine has and has never had problem or a death (other than old age). However, in general researching I've seen a lot of bad..

I have a 60L almost finished cycling and will eventually (i hope!!) home 6Neons and small school (5/6) pygmy/harbrosus (sp) cory :).. Hope you get what you want
