Cories At The Surface.....being Nosey?

Hey,
I was wondering whether someone could shed some light on my cories' behaviour. I'm not too sure if its just them being curious little critters as the 3 bits of bogwood with java moss on them have only been added a few days ago, or whether its because my circulation pump (NeWave 1.6) died on the same day as adding the wood/moss.
They are rushing to the surface a lot more than the usually do and thy are 'hovering' around the wood on the top half of the tank. What do you reckon? Nosey/curious little things or something more serious?

It could be one of 2 things:
1) curiosity .
OR
2) lack of oxygen


Cories usually breathe from the surface anyway. I think they're just curious.

I would check your water stats, and if you don't have one, add an air pump just to be safe 
 
I love your tank, love wood stuck to the sides!!!
