Coral Sand For Tangs

is coral sand ok for tangs, i prefer this to sand, not just because of it being a helping hand for the ph, but for the look, i always think sand looks too dirty unless you have loads of circulation on top of it,

the reason im asking this is because i read something about suspended particles effecting mbuna, i know these arnt mbuna, but i was wondering if it effected tanganyika's at all?

it is said that coral sand causes gill iritation, due to the suspended particles in which case it would affect any fish. However, IME it didnt harm any of my stock, nor the stock at my LFS

My Malawi's moved it all the time. It doesnt compact like play sand.

i think i am going to buy some from charterhouse aquatics, when i order the filter/heater/powerhead

ok, how much will i need for my 125 litre, its 80cm wide, 36deep, how thick do you need it?

You only need a thin layer, like, 1"
