Hi,
I just want to throw this question out into the forum. I am wanting to put coral into a freshwater tank, is there such a thing as fresh water coral? or is dead coral safe to put in a tank. if either of the 2 is possible can you tell me what and where to get it.

Thanks
John Waller :good:

No fresh water corals. Well their are some, but they are cold water and I've never seen any in stores or online. Dead coral with effect the ph and is not reccomended for fish tanks

Coral will make your water seriously hard. Unless you have cichlids then adding it is a very bad idea.

although dead coral skeleton will increase the PH and GH, a few pieces won't make much difference to the water chemistry in an average tank. If you fill the tank up with it then the PH will go up and the hardness will increase a bit.
