Convicts

Have 2 tanks sitting empty now a 36gal and a 55gal
Want to possibly make a cichlid tank.
Always liked convicts so wondering how many would be the max for each tank
Just want tank as a speices tank.
I am ok if answer is just a pair as i read the male would kill anything in tank.

Tank would be a hidy-hole rock caves throuout with some hardy live plants

A pair would be nice. When they breed they will guard their young against everything else.

Yeah... Go with a breeding pair! Quite agressive fish they are! And someone please move this thread to new world cichlids please!
