these two convicts spawned for the first time last friday but my plec ate all the eggs,so i put the plec in the piranha tank.this morning they have hundreds more eggs i cant believe they done it again so soon :)
last time they put the eggs in a cornor on the glass bottom, this time they have put them up on this bogwood out of the plecs way(even tho hes not in there anymore)and they are gaurding them much more seriously.

Cool.

i dont know what im gonna do with them all.i put all the others besides the pair in the 100g and they have all been eaten so my fish must like them :) and there is allways the piranha tank.other than than feeding them to my fish i suppose i will be giving them away if i can.
ive been reading that some people add anti fungus treatment for the eggs should i be doing this?

What so you put the other cons etc in the paranah tank and they got eaten?
Should be able to give them away fairly easily...

Good luck with rasing them :good:

well done and convicts will only spawn again after the brood is completely left so you won't get hundreds and don't worry about the anti fungus stuff aslong as you dont artificially raise the eggs you dont need it as the parents clean and fan the eggs :good:

Dont skimp on the water changes. They are just as or probably even more important when there is fry.
Try to not annoy the parents and make sure the new water is relatively the same.

at least 50 of the eggs have turned white overnight :( why is this happening?i thought they were all fertile

Eggs go white for 2 reasons.

1. Not fertile-the parents will aventually learn and do it right
2. Fungus-mainly down to water quality and if the parents arent experienced. Some people use methlyene blue to help against fungus, personally i dont use it.

all the eggs must of been infertile :( they just vanished and i have seen no fry, hopefully they will get it right next time
