Convicts and tiger barbs

I have 6 tiger barbs in a 55 gallon with a male convict (4") and have had no problems. He completely ignores the school of barbs. Also in the tank are a 7" tin foil barb, 7" bay snook, and an 8 or 9" pleco.

I have a second 25 gallon with 5 green tiger barbs, a small geo and small gourami. The barbs are so self absorbed they ignore the other fish except (to my surprise) when the gourami decides to chase one away. IMHO tiger barb aggression is very exaggerated, especially when compared to something like a Dempsey. Space helps as well.

Thanks for all your comments... now I'm really confused

Discisions, discision... I like the look of Cons with their stripes look good with the tigers. Firemouths maybe or keyholes mmmmm.

Another thing I should consider is the crayfish, he's gettin pretty big now don't really want him eating cichlids! But he's busy most the time trying to catch the Tigers when he's hungry otherwise just sits in his cave lookin mean :sly:
