Can I put 2 convicts (1 male and 1 female) in a 29 gallon with plecos, king tiger or 2 clown plecos?

I keep reading things saying a 6 foot tank is the minimum, is a 29 gallon an OK tank for 1 male and 1 female convict + babies?

29 is a good size for a pair of convicts, unfortunately it doesn't leave mcuh room for tankmates. I wouldn't risk other fish with a breeding pair of cons in a 29, even if they are armor plated, they wouldn't have a good life really.

bad move there by the way, convicts are worse than rabbits when it comes to breeding lol once they start they never stop and have up to something like 100 babys at a time and nobody ever wants to buy them which makes it really hard to get rid of the babys

Hmmm I'm back at square one.

Would this work

2 x cockatoo dwarf cichlid Apistogramma cacatuoides
3 x rams Mikrogeophagus ramirezi Are there two differet types of rams?
1 x king tiger pleco
6 x guppies

go with one or the other... either the apistos or the rams and get a pair of either species. If you get three, two may pair and then team up on the lone fish so not a good idea. Plus if you get pair of both species, then you will get aggression. These species are not as fierce as the bigger species like JD's rd's, gt's and the such, but they are still cichlids and will defend their territory.

why not go for a pair of angelfish, they dont have many babies and lfs' will always be happy to take angels, also you can keep other fish with angels. like tetra's, corys plecs etc..

OK, would this work?

2 Angelfish
Pleco (either king tiger or 2x clown pleco)
red tail black shark
cherry barbs

I think the rtbs would be up it's tankmates in the 29. Might seriously damage the angels finniage too. but beyond that, sounds good
