I have around 250+ convict fry taht became free swimming on thanksgiving. I was wondering how much they usually grow in a month? I dont feed them anything special, just flake, and whatever they can find. There is alot of brown algea, whcih i heard is a very nutritious strain( true, or not?). I was just wondering, so i can know exactly when i will be able to give them away. Please voice your oppinions from experience, or something you found on the web.

My convicts do quite well on cichlid pellets and filter media. LOL Seriously, I put an ATI sponge in the convict tank....and the babies started eating it, because of all of the organisms living in there.

I just got rid of my first set of convicts, i.e. my first spawning. It took 2 months for them to grow to be quarter sized (about an inch). My second set is already in the tank with Momma and Daddy, growing well. I'm hoping that they'll be ready to go in about 2 months from now.

I had one of those really old whisper second nature's( lol), and it had those extra media pads, so i pout it in whith my baby con's( 2 times before this, when i had cons in a 30g tank), and they grew very slowly. Last night, i went and bought a think of frozen baby brine shrimp( they are so tiny!!!!!), adn fed them to them. They love it, and it is neat to see their stomachs turn oragne after they eat them! I just fed them some, as i got homw from school around 2 hours ago.

I bought them some baby Brine shrimp on saturday( i think), and i ahve noticed that they are growing extroadonarily fast for their age!!!!!!!!! Ohhhh, yeah, today is their first officialy week of free-swimming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
