This tank has been established for around three years now, it used to home my Limia Tridens, if anyone remembers my old avatar. Until recently, it housed my peacock gobies, but the female died, and none of my LFSs had any females in stock, so I've decided to go shrimpy with it.

I have got some Cardinal Shrimp coming tomorrow, so I moved the male peacock goby into the bigger tank, did a small amount of rescaping, removed some of the java moss, and this is where it's at right now.

Looks good TLM.

Should be a fun journal to follow.

Sorry for the loss of your female!

I can't wait to see the shrimp!!! Should be today.

This has peaked my interest. I've liked the look of cardinal shrimp for a while now and have seen them once in West London going for extortionate prices. May I make a humble request here? Please post pics of the packaging particularly in how they were kept and also may I ask where you got them from?

When they get here, I will happily post photos. They should have been here today, I gave the seller my work address as I knew there would be no-one at home to receive them, I'm hoping that bloke hasn't despatched them there, and they've not disappeared into the grotty depths of Her Majesty's Royal Mail Service.

I was lucky, I got the for just over £4 each + postage, the only other place I've seen them online was from Kesgrave, and he's got them at about £7.50. Never seen them in a retailer at all.

They have now arrived, I don't have tiome to upload piccies of the packaging now, I'll do that tomorrow.

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

But, then there's also this:

Never put off till tomorrow what may be done day after tomorrow just as well.

Tricky situation to be in, keep us up to date on your decision.

Oh, gawd, I'm with Twain on that one.

Whilst I was rather surprised that the seller didn't invest in a "Pre-Noon" courier, I was very pleased with the packaging.

Good sturdy outer carton

Inner polystyrene is a very snug fit in the outer carton, and lined with newspaper

Very good quality polystrene carton.

With newspaper inside, and a heat pack. Apologies for the poor photography, I was in a hurry to get home, and get them accimitising.

Double bagged, proper bags, nice and big, looks like they had oxygen, plenty of water and some rolls of gauze for them to hold onto in transit.

And here they are - or at least the only one that didn't disappear off round the back of the java moss

Pity about the scratched glass.....

Have I missed you sharing where you got a good price and good delivery from?

Lovely shrimp, I only have cherries and a couple of RCS in my shrimp tank.

You haven't missed that, Rob, because I completely forgot to share, but I'm quite intrigued.

The only place I've seen these online previously is Kesgrave (for those that don't know, Kesgrave is one of the bigger Ebay merchants in the UK, Suffolk), and they currently have them up for £8.95 each or 10 for £75, plus carriage at £7.50.

I just happened to search Ebay for "dennerli" (this being part of the scientific name Caridina Dennerli), and another listing popped up, someone called Smudger1976, whose location was also listed as Suffolk. I assumed this was probably someone who had previously bought from Kesgrave, and had bred them.

The listing was 5 for £9.99 + £9.00 carriage, but it was an auction listing, not a Buy It Now. I thought I'd whack in a bid of about £20, which I did, and was instantly outbid. Upped it to £22, and was leading for a while, until about 12 hours to go. The initial bidder was then outbid to about £30 when the auction closed. I wasn't going to go that high, so thought nothing more. That evening, I had a Second Chance message from Ebay, accepted, paid, had a brief "When do you want them" email convo with the seller.

Box arrived yesterday - the sender's name on the sticker on the box is Kesgrave. Not quite sure what to make of that. My only thought was that Kesgrave had too many of them, wanted to sell them cheap, but didn't want to lower the "official" price. The seller has nearly 4500 feedback points, 24 since January 2013, a few in early 2012 and then everything before that seems to be 2010 and previous.

 Very pretty! Can't wait to see more of them once they get settled in.
