Considering getting a Porthole catfish .... but just wondering if we will ever SEE him ???

We have an upside down catfish but he hardly ever shows up !!

Also read a few places that portholes only grow to about 4 inches MAX .... is that correct - it's a 4 foot tank .

Thanks

Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Peaceful
Water Conditions: 75-82° F, KH 9-12, pH 5.5-7.5
Max. Size: 4"
Color Form: Black, Tan
Diet: Omnivore
Origin: South America
Family: Callichthyidae

I have a hoplo catfish which are very similar, get fish to keep, you see them when they want to be seen, your best set-up is with subdewed lighting which help's make the fish more comfortable, lot's of hiding space's to make it feel more comfortable

Plenty of hiding places - that's why we don't see the upside down cat !!
