Hi every one I have 6 cons in a 55 gallon tank and 4 of them are 2 inches long the other 2 are 3 inches. the two biggest ones are in the middle of the tank protecting a ship. there colors are very dark compaired to the first week I had them. the one that i belive to be the female is kind of picking on the other big one that I belive to be a male not bad though just enough that I notice it. they do not let any other fish near the ship unless it is feeding time and even then they keep a close watch on it. :grr:

I do not see any babies or eggs but I can not see every part of the ship.

I was just wondering if they are paring up or are they just showing the other 4 that they are the bosses of the tank? :dunno:

:fun: sounds like your convicts have eggs or fry, they will keep moving them around, the digging will be mum & dad making a new pit for them.

thanks for your help the female is getting more agressive as I write this. If any one wants to agree with the others who have written to make me feel more comfertable about it or if you want to disagree please write it. :hyper:

CONGRATS there having eggs Mine just had them 2 days ago, So far there wigglers :D

I can not tell any thing yet. :( The ship is realy hard to see into. but I will Keep you guys updated.

hi I think that they have not yet mated yet because unless the mother ate one of the other fish in the tank (she did not for sure) she is getting bigger. I will keep you guys updated but for now she is just getting bigger and bigger and bigger. oh I almost forgot the female has a little white thing sticking out from her belly that was not there before and I was wondering if that is what she lays the eggs with.

thanks for your help

I've read somewhere that that is indeed what they lay the eggs with, could appear the day before she lays the eggs.
Haven't seen it on mine, but I just got them recently.
I've seen it twice on my female krib though, sure sign for breeding!
