Hi, ive been keeping my fish for a few months now and have had a few rounds of babies from platys and swordtails, so i know some stuff. Today my swordtail gave birth and two of my babies seem to be conjoined, like they are laying on top of each other? The top one seems to be the one thats doing the swimming but to me it looks like its struggling with the weight? keeps going to bottom and then shooting up and then going back down again. Ive never seen this happen and im just wondering whether the fish will be suffering to live like this?
I tried to attach a pic but it says files too big :(
Thanks
Steph

I had two guppy fry before conjoined at the head, so one was always upside-down.  They lived a few days but then died.  I'm not sure if they were in pain or not... people aren't I don't think when they are that way.  But the fry can hardly get enough to eat that way.  I'd advise you cull them for their own sake, but you can do what you want.  I hope this helps. :)

You can upload the picture to a photo sharing website such as Photobucket and then link it here, if you want.
Not sure what you should actually do as I havn't bred any fish but it does sound sad :/

unless you have a breeding tank just for fry, the babies generally have enough trouble surviving without having to worry about an odd problem such as this. I agree with the others, it would be more humane to cull it.
