Confuzzlement Over My Fishless Cycle

hey everybody

i am doing my fishless cycle (woop woop!)
i couldnt find amonia anywhere so i have started with a package called "New Aquarium Start Up Kit! its made by INTERPET
the kit contains a bottle of fresh start for removing chlorine and other nastyness from the water,a mysterious bottle labeled filter start that is meant to get the bacteria going,a vial,2 ph tester tablets and 8 nitrite tester tablets and a set of instructions

i realize that this more than likely isnt a popular method with people on the forum but its all i had available

i have been adding the filter start for around 2 weeks and my nitrite readings are always coming back the same (deep pinky purple) which means the tank hasnt really made any progress so far
i noticed a few days ago that i had been over-dosing the tank and have corrected the dosage now

will the over-dosing have effected the cycle?
i really hope i dont have to start again

tbh the reason the cycle hasn't started is because the filter start stuff is no good, unless after you add it your ammonia shoots up to 5ppm then it's not cycling the tank.

try Boots for household ammonia, if you can't get any there then use fish food

or if you know some one else with a tank see if you can have the squeezings from there filter or some of there
filter medium this should give you a start point
