Confused

Well ive managed to acquire a 3ft tank and currently have a small cold water tank. I now want to go tropical and was looking at things like clown fish im led to believe i will need to add salt? Is there tropical fish that do not use salt in the water or do they all require salt? Sorry for the newbie question but im new to all this and just want to get everything right before i proceed.

hi clown fish are marine fish thats why they need salt unless you mean clown loach's which are freshwater and dont need salt
you need to research freshwater tropical fish for fish that dont need salt
