phew, its all added (and without waking the family!) all babies are alive, healthy and really fat with thei last feed!

i owe my life to you old man!

btw the dechlorinator is nutrafin Aqua plus

i added it into their tank filter currents, this will spread it right?

Adding it anywhere is usually just as good as long as there is water movement. Glad you found the problem and everything is alright now. Hopefully not too much damage was done to the fry.

I don't trust nitrate treatments as I'd prefer not to add unnecessary chemicals to the tank. Plants and regular water changes are a better choice for nitrates IMHO.

1 dead this morning

and another looking on verge of death, the rest all ate and are swimming happily. could the deaths be the cholrine? or mabey suddenly adding the dechlorinator?? :'( i dont want a repeat of last week so plz help.

I usually end up losing 1 or 2,possibly weaker ones,now your using dechlorinator you should be ok.

You could try testing the water and see what the stats are?

nitrate- 0-0.25ppm (more 0)
ammonia-0ppm
nitrate- 10-20ppm

1 or 2 more look like their gonna die, the rest are just swimming
mabey it was the chlorine doseage, im so angry at myself for doin that

Do i w/c with the aquaplus if your unsure about the nitrite,

Don't blame yourself,we all make little booboo's,i wasn't sure whether the easybalance was a dechlorinator as well,thats why i didn't reply,i knew its suppose to lower nitrates,but at the end of the day,your other fish seem ok,its probably more noticeable because you were doing w/c on the fry tank hence putting easy balance instead of dechlorinator.

many years ago when i first kept goldfish i never used dechlorinator,so i know how you feel,

Good luck with the fry,and don't beat yourself up,weaker fry will die no matter what we do,thats why they have so many.
I lost 3 cory fry in 2 weeks,am absolutely gutted,its just one of those things thats sent to try us.
