Hi All,
Totaly confused as to where I am in my fishless cycle. ( My fish cant wait to get in their new tank either LOL)
So as of last night I had been adding ammonia everytime the level dropped to 0ppm (about 12hours)
So I was adding ammonia 9am and 9pm.
Its only when i tested nitrites and nitrates last night (first time ive done it properly) I realised I have aproblem.
The nitrites of was off the scale and nitrates was off the scale.
So this morning I did a 60% water change ( nitrites now 0.4ppm and nitrates 40ppm)
A guy then just told me that dosing to 4ppm is not required as I only want to put 8 baby platies ( 1 month old in my tank)
He said dose to 2ppm. So after my water change I have dosed to 2ppm at 10:45am.
Is my cycle nearly done?? I only want to add 8 baby fish and not a tank full of 30.......
Please help.
Thanks,,
Dave
I have been cycling for about 4 weeks now
