I want to get a light controller, and was thinking of an Arcadia ACD36. I already have 2x Arcadia T5 Plant Pro tubes (34", 39W), but according to the arcadia info, the tubes for this controller need to be 48" long, and 36-38W?

Its seems a bit weird to me? I cant find Plant Pro tubes that are 48" long? can you not use these tubes with this controller? Even if you could, this would be used in a Rio180, fitted under the hood flaps keeping the original T8's to achieve as close to 3WPG as possible. If I cant do it with this equipment, can anyone suggest alternatives?

any help much appreciated!

thanks

Dont worry about the length, its the wattage & diameter (T5/T8) thats important. Some of the tubes mention that they can be driven only by electronic ballasts, so thats another factor to note.

I'm working my way through the lighting maze at the moment, so I think I can shed some light on the problem :S (Sorry)

You have T5 lights - 5/8" dia, the controller is for 1" dia tubes or T8 tubes. T5 are more efficient, so you get more power per inch. As previously suggested you also need a different (AKA more expensive) controller.

Try http://www.arcadia-uk.info/product.php?pid...p;sub=&id=4
