Confused About Goby Id.plz Help Me

hey there and thanks for taking interest id just like some information please. just that i bought a goby for the tropical tank and it was sold 2 me as a purple goby, its only 2" long and its silvery with a black line down the middle. it was only £5 aswell which was a brucey bonus, id just like 2 know which type of goby it is as i cant find much info on the net, wot do they eat? and how big do they get? oh yeah and do they eat all the fish? the guy said it wont but it was at peter barratts n im not sure if he knew wot he was on about as ive looked at all other goby sites and most of em r carnivores so does that mean that when the goby gets bigger then the neons dont have a chance?id also like 2 know if any1 has had any experiences with goby eating the fish etc. tyhat wud be great. well thanks very much for ya time all info is really appreciated.

i cant remember the name but most gobys will get 6 to 12 inches long. and they love frozen blood worms which most pet stores carry. they are also cave dwellers, they are considered semi-aggresive

Most true gobies won't even reach 6" in an aquarium, with 1.5-3" being a far more likely figure. However, sleeper gobies tend to get a lot bigger and are predatory.
