I'm a slacker too, so I set my tanks up for months of healthy operation with no water changes. If I don't bother with alage removal (which I usually do), I could cut maintenance down to 5 minutes a week. That doesn't include the occasional water change, though.

Yea, we all go though this I think, but when we do get in the mood it is satisfying and enjoyable.

I set each Friday as my date and give myself the entire weekend to get the job done, that’s a nice long grace period.
