people say you should condition the fish for 2 weeks befor breeding, what edzactley does this mean?

This is for breeding, it takes about 2 weeks for the eggs to mature, but any fish well cared for can occour sooner.

Here's how I condition my fish (some people do it differently).
I put the male and female near each other (still in their seperate containers). I put a peice of paper to block their view from each other. I feed them lots of protein-rich foods...lots of live foods and frozen (not too much to get them constipated, though) at least 3 times a day. I let them see each other once a day for 15 minutes. They flare at each other and flirt and get all excited, and then the paper is put back in place. I keep their water extra squeaky clean, too. This goes on for about 2 weeks...sometimes less if the female is looking extra eggy.

lol just re-read the question (i had only just got up first time around)

Feed the female the best quality foods, like quality flake and live foods do this for 10 days
Then introduce her to the male, dot directly but in a breeding trap or jar so they can both see each other.
This will encourage the male to build a good nest and finish of the female with ripe eggs.

Once you can see a white spot on the ovipositoer (spelling!!) this is around the vent area on her then she should be ready to spawn.
