Got a 5 foot tank getting bad condensation to the point its on outside of tank now (running down)

My idea is to put some draft excluder or something between top of glass and under hood to stop this

any other ideas?

sorry to ask a stupid question but you do have an evap tray dont you?
scot :)

I take it that the tank is closed at the top? (cant think how else condensation would run down the outside...)

Photos please so we can make suggestions

No tray no, cant find one big enough? tank is 60" x 18"

Photo here without lid (before a clean!)

And here with lid

go to a local DIY shop and they will cut you a piece of perspex to fit for a few quid try b&q
scot :)

Quite a few quid for the perspex though if my 'browsing' at B&Q is anything to go by :(

B&Q is well dear, we bought some for race car while back £30+ rip off.

for a 3ft tank mine cost 5.20 from what i thought was a well expensive local shop
scot :)

Small "left over" bits of perspex are usually dirt cheap. Rather than going for a whole cover in one go, get a cover in two pieces. recon it would allow better access too as you could have one side open at a time, allowing the other side to be closed so you can rest stuff on it.

Id be tempted to go for glass rather than perspex tho. Know its heavier, but it would allow more light through, and wouldnt discolour with age. Also could clean it with much mor abrasive stuff and acids to remove limescale.
