Says it all really. The last couple days i've noticed a roundish, pale/creamy coloured lump sticking out of his bottom. Almost impossible to photograph, but will give it a go tonight.

At first I just thought it was a pale and rather large poo or constipation from eating his own AND the food i put in for the shrimps, but it's not I don't think - it hasn't shifted at all in the time that i've noticed it, though it's like it appeared almost overnight, not a gradual thing.

Apart from this lump, he's got a great appetite, swims like normal and still follows me round the room as he swims. His coloring is still great too - just this weird thing sticking out of him!!!

Tank stats:

35l half hex
temp: 27C
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:30
pH: 7.5-8....hard London water anyways
Tankmates: 3 "filter" shrimp (the ones with the cute fans), 2 bumblebee shrimp, 1 cherry (the other 3 died, no idea why - they didn't appear to be munched on)

So yeah, anyone have any ideas? i'll really try and get a pic later. He hates peas too btw, and is fed on Hikari baby pellets, a treat of mini bloodworm once a week and has no dinner on a sunday.

well ur water is spot on what ur feeding him is good but a pic would really be helpful from what u have mentioned i have a funny feeling i know what it is but need a pic to see if it is what i think it is

Thank you for the reply.... managed to get 2 pics, though not great quality as Kai is an active chap and dances for food whenever I go near his tank lol

I'm still totally confuddled by it - he's pooing normally through whatever it is, and seems totally normal otherwise.

 anyone?

I had a similar problem with my Betta but it would change size sometimes getting smaller and then bigger every few hours but In comparison to you pictures it wasn't as big as that I don't think. At first I couldn't work out what it was (I still have no clue xD), I then looked up the Anatomy of a betta and became worried. As a precaution and from some help on here I treated the it for Internal Bacteria. It eventually went away and touch wood I havn't had a similar problem since. Try some Internal meds just incase and see if that makes a difference.

Hope all goes well, and that if he is sick he gets better soon =]

:good:
