Concerened For Yellow Lab

hi guys
seems to be the time for questions about yellow labs and todays is...

i have a yellow lab and she has been holding for ages she is now at the point where it looks like her mouth is about to split and has been for about a week as she opens her mouth i can see atleast 3 fry inside but she is not releasing them she is getting extremley thin and im starting to worrie about her is there anything i can do to help her i will she definately get through this herself?

Mine was the same I could see eyes through her throat it was so thin , now she`s got a body mass index to rival posh spice it`s a bit of a worry.
I think they can go upto 31 days (read that the other day somewhere) you could take her out and strip the fry yourself depending how confident you are

how would i strip a yellow lab?

I`ve never done it and I woudln`t try just yet. Put bluntly - You catch the fish and hold it in your hand and gently open it`s mouth with an object like a toothpick and the fry will come out.

just strpped her of 4 fry hopefully she will recover quite well and it will give her the nudge to release the rest

Nice One, how easy was it ? Why didn`t the others come out ?

the most difficult bit was catching mum lol but the stripping was relatively easy with more practice im sure i will get better but i got nervous after 4 as it seemed like it was taking an age so i let her go again and im glad i did coz i would like to see if she can hold properly for herself and give her the chance

they look alot bigger than they are when they are in her mouth but they were tiny soooooo ill just see how it goes

it was an experience to say the least and not one that i will repeat unless i have too
