Would a lone convict be okay with a school of tiger barbs and a BN in a tall thirty gallon? They'd be the only things in there, and I plan on having a couple of chunks of driftwood and fake plants also. If it's not, can a lone con be kept with anything?

Cons are pretty tough, so one should be able to keep a group of barbs in line, though I have no experience mixing these :/

Yeah, I wasn't sure on mixing a con with anything because most of the posts I've read about them involve a pair and then it's always the same 'kill, massacre, die' type stuff, but not much on singles. I figured tigers were one of the tougher fish that could possibly go with a con and yet not provide a individual large-type fish to piss the con off, and I figured they would, however, be big enough not to get eaten.

Most smaller cichlids (usually cons) get a bad name because they spawn and kill, but it usually isn't the lone ones that cause too many problems. Not to say they don't cause any though, because some do :D

Single convicts are perfectly fine, mine have joined in with schools of guppies before, weird hey. :D

Should be fine. I have a few barbs in with a texas cichlid, pink convict, oscar, and red devil... They all actually live and get along fine o.o
