Compatability?

Hello, I have a 20 gallon flat hex with lots of rocks and plants and I need to know if 2 brichardi and 2 kribensis will get allong together in this tank. Any advice will be appreciated.

The tank is a little small because of the aggression of the Brichardi. The main problem is the different water conditions these fish like, Kribs in the wild live in areas with a pH in the low fives and almost no hardness to the water. Brichardi live in water with a pH around 8.5 and very hard.

Tank raised fish are quite adaptable to different water types but the aggression of cichlids in a small tank can result in dead fish. My Pelvichromis sp. Blue Fin can keep every fish in a 65 gallon tank at the other end when they spawn.

The guy at my petstore said tha they will get along together fine but you cant blame me for worrying, can you? They also said the my albino brichardi arent as aggressive because they cant see as well. Is that true?The kribensis are a breeding pair and the brichardi are about and inch but I have yet to come across a problem. So does that mean they are set for life in a tank of harmony until the kribs breed?

Brichardi and Kribensis don't sound like a good mix to me either. I agree with everything Aprilia997 said. There isn't enough floor space for 2 species of most any Cichlid in a 20gal hex. Especially 2 species with such different requirements. Pick one species and you should be OK.

I still have not had very many agression problems because I have dither fish and they have many hidding places and I keep bogwood in there to keep the ph at about 7.5. So is there still a danger of aggression? And is it true that albino brichardi are not as aggressive as regulars because the cannot see as well because they dont have all there pigments in there eyes? All help will be valued.
