I have 6 Tiger Barbs in a 30 gallon. I have 7 Cardinal Tetras in a 10 gallon that I am wanting to move into the 30. Would they be ok in there with the Tigers? If not, what else could I put in there? Red Tail Shark, Gourami, is there some small cichlid I can put in there? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Your cardinals should be ok. As would a rainbow shark. I would leave out the gouramis, sometimes tiger barbs like to nip at their long ventral fins. As for cichlids, if you leave out the shark, bolivian rams, apistogrammas and kribs would be good choices. Platies would be good upper level fish, or hatchetfish if you want something a little different.

Hi Shane, I have 8 barbs (4 green & 4 striped) in with lemon tetras, beacon tetras & harlequin rasboras and touch wood no problems so far.
Tigers can be aggressive fish but generally between themselves with enough numbers. Although they don't generally go with fish that are slow with lots of flowing finnage (such as angels & Siamese fighters) as they can become very nippy!!
I should think they would go fine with cardinals as that's what I'm looking at when I get my new tank sorted.
Hope this helps.
Darryl

Thanks for the help guys. I have 3 green and 3 striped. I will look into some of those cichlids. I will just have to figure out what I want.

You're welcome. Ask lots of questions, there are lots of very experienced hobbyists on here, more than happy to help.
