They don't need a heater. Room temperature is fine.

Oh my goodness!!! I've never heard that one before.. UGH.. I hope no one ever listened to whoever started that. That's just terrible.

They like to live in tiny bowls
When living in vases they live off the plant and they never need water changes
males fighting males is good for them
:shout: crazy things!!!!!!!

-They thrive on dirty water and if you give them clean water then they will die.

-They attack everything in sight so you cannot have any decorations or other fish with them.

-Tanks bigger then 1/2 a gallon is cruel.

-They can go half a year without food.

-If you give them a big tank/bowl they will grow as big as it (example: betta in a 10 gallon will grow the size of the 10 gallon).

-You breed bettas like you do guppies.

-When bettas blow bubbles it means that they have rabies and the bubbles are 'foam' that comes out of their mouths.

-That cups are the perfect place to keep betta.

-That their other name is not siamese fighting fish but chinese/japanese fighting fish.

-That bettas are vegetarians.

-That bettas will breed with guppies.

Those are great guys!!! Thank you so much! If you can think of anyothers that haven't been listed please let me know!! :D

imo the most common one ;

bettas can't be kept w/ other fish... definately not true

Well some bettas can't^ But some can ;)

lol The guppy one...Yeah some woman came in and clamed that her community betta breed with her guppies. She only had one guppy and the betta (and a pleco) and suddenly there were guppy babies. She didn't believe the employee when he said the guppy was probably already pregnant. *rolls eyes*
