thinking about it and looking at some pics, i think the natural pea gravel looks best..thanks!

I always think sand is the nicest substrate but it is a very personal thing and you should go with what you like the look of
:D

personaly i love black sand

it makes your plants and fish stand out sooo much

from my experience
i dont recommend white sand it is bright on the eyes

but it depends on what you like...

black allso looks natural

lol Just for your infomation .

went to lfs last nite and they had a via-aqua 380 display tank with mini black gravel and black neon tetras with a 3D background.....................stunning  ?one question..is black gravel harder to maintain as u cant c the fish waste and dont no which bit to clean..sorry newbie question...agian...! :D cheers!

most of my tanks have pool filter sand which look very natural and great
however I have on tank with black gravel and I think this also looks "natural"

substrate is a personal choice although you should take into account your fishes needs
no point having gravel for certain fsh when they like to hide/sift sand

cheers all, it was becoz im getting cardinal tetras and they prefer a black substrate and i think it looks sinister and looks different! :D

ps: i didnt see anthing gruesome ???

If you search around the website, there are some cool tanks...there are also some tanks like the link that DazedNConfused (Go Led Zeppelin!) showed you.

I personally like the natural look much better! You can't beat nature!
