Hey

i got some colour enhancing flake food a couple weeks ago and i thought it was just a trick to guy it so all went well until i saw my fish with no lights on. The bolvians went all disco funky colours and my Gold ram shows hes blue, and so i thought ib was just hilucinating, now the gold ram shows much for blue in him and my bolivians show some green around their gills and my keyholes are showing some blue on the top of their fins.....do you think the food is okay for them?

thanx

yeh preety cool colours Chook

Comet: the brand is HBH and the product is Flake Frenzy. it said is loaded with natural compounds called carotenoids and thats the basic info on the colour enhancing stuff

That should be ok for the fish - it basicly contains the stuff found in carrots (that makes them orange I believe) so it's probably natural and harmless... correct me if I'm wrong.

okay thanx

i was just worried it was some form of dyeing the fish -_-

I believe carotene is actually a compound of vitamim A so should be ok in moderate amounts - good for the skin :p
