Of all the puffers the Colomesus asellus is probably the most tankmate friendly. As long as the tankmates are non-aggressive and don't have too long or flowing fins they should get on fine. You still may end up with a nasty one, but for the most part they are good for communities. The down side is they have the fastest growing teeth of any puffer, and unless fed a steady diet of "crunchy" foods like snails and mollusks you will have to trim the teeth at some point
