My Colombian catfish just died, just suddenly, it has no visible problems whatsoever, it looks perfectly healthy and was happy, I have no idea why it died. I did introduce some elodea yesterday, that's about it.

I dont know my water readings but all thenother fish seem happy and healthy, my tanknis 50 gallons and the catfish was only 3 inches long, however I never saw him eat not once, I feed him flakes pellets and frozen foods such as bloodworm, he seems rather slim, he was so nice, why did he die

Sorry for your loss, sometimes it just happens for no apparent reason. If he was skinny it could of been an internal parasite, sometimes an internal parasite can cause so much bacteria in the gut it kills the fish before you realise there is a problem.

how could i identify an internal parasite? could it spread?

Colombian sharks need brackish water as they get older, it could be that yours was in freshwater too long
