So I recently had a nasty outbreak of colmunaris here. I'm not sure how it spread between everyone, all I can think is that when I did water changes I used the net on a fish that was sick buet,t not showing any symptoms yet, so I didn't know he/she was sick. It's been so stressful around here with all of the sick fish. 9 came down sick, and I lost 5 of them, the others are doing well though, and no new cases have started... but I'm just heartbroken, it was such a horrible strain, if it was caught the second they started showing symptoms it killed then with in 12-24 hours and nothing helped.

Rip little ones, it breaks my heart to see you go!! Go and swim to the big bubblenest in the sky... I will miss you all so much, I wish I could have done something more to save you..

Chippy - My beautiful girl, so much personality, and such a good mommy, it breaks my heart that you're gone... :rip: my beautiful girl

Awe so sorry to hear about all the losses. I know my pleco had colminaris and i was sure to wash everything very throughly as to not to pass it on to any of my other fish.

:rip: :rip: for all! :fish:

Columnaris is nasty and can soon kill a fish in hours.
Always sterlise equipment when you have this awful desease in a tank.
R.I.P.

Oh Jaded you have made me cry now....hugs and vibes to you...lol xx

Oh my goodness... I am sooo sorry. Yes, it's hard enough to lose 1 - let alone 5.

I've heard there are 2 forms of columnaris (flexibacter)... one is fast and aggressive, and there's little to nothing you can do.

They were beautiful bettas... and I'm sure you'll be sad for a long while. Hugs to you!

i know you already have herd it alot and will hear it much more but i am so sorry for your losses. i know how you feel sorta...... afew years back i had an outbreak of columnaris in my goldfish tank. no matter how hard i tried to treat it most of them didnt improve at all but afew others got better then tirned right back around and got worse again. it was hard going through that but to lose so many of your bettas i couldnt even begin to imagine how you feel.

 thats alot of fish to lose in 24 hours. now i'm going to be paranoid and steralyzing everything after every water change

i loved the blue on peanut's tail. and his name made me laugh. i never thought of calling a betta peanut.
:rip:

edit: curse my spelling.
