really need to get some decisiveness from somewhere, really struggling to make any decisions what to put in my 120l tank that'l be free in a fortnight.

Just been browsing the fish index's for ideas and I quite like these little dudes http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=42314 the cockatoo dwarf chiclids, never seen them in any of my LFS's. Anyone know if they're easy to get hold of?

Suggestions for suitable tank mates would be good too!

They are lovely fish, usually easy to find, and are not aggressive.

In a 120, you could probably get away with a male and 3 females, along with some schooling fish like tetras or something.

And these guys are easy to breed, and not all too fussy on water peramters such as ph?

cool thanks, i'll have a shop around see if I can find some :D

think they're going to go in the 120 with 2 blue gourami's, 4 dwarf gourami's a plec and a catfish :D

well i don't know where everyone else gets them but i can't ever find them. i hear that because of thsi they can get costly up to $50 a pair. they are nice fish and generally go into any community setup.

take it if your using $ your in the USA, maybe it's easier in the UK?

i'll have an ask around the shops by mine see if someone can order them in for me :)

cool thanks i'll check those out tonight 8) :D

yea i'm in the US. our fish may be cheaper over here (in some cases) but you guys can get the better/rarer fish overthere for less and can actually find them. sometimes i hate america and wish i lived in the UK

I'm surprised that Cockatoos are difficult to obtain in the UK. They are becoming easier to obtain in Canada. Great fish to keep; beautiful and very interesting behaviour. Cockatoos are one of the easier Apistogrammas to keep and breed. They would make an excellent and rewarding breeding project, especially if they are somewhat rare in the UK. Keep looking, you won't be dissapointed!
