hi
i have been looking into getting some cockatoo apistogramma's, possibly orange flash, and was wondering whether these would be OK with my fish already in my tank:

3 Angelfish (about 3 or 4 inch body without fins) 1 female, 2 males. female has spawned with both I think;
1 small Angelfish;
2 female guppies;
2 neon tetras;
1 kribensis (about 2 inch long).

Any advice is appreciated.
thanks
Stephen

Unless it is a fairly large, well planted tank, you're likely to have problems between kribs and apistos, especially if you end up with a breeding pair.

It is 36"x15"x18" and is planted but not sure whether it's "heavily" planted. I could take the krib out i guess. Do you think the apistos be OK with the other fish?

Yep. Unless you get an unusually agreessive apisto species or individual, they should be fine with the other fish.

Your only other issue is of course the angels living with the neons. Angels predate on neons in the wild. Your angels may not, but be aware of the distinct possibility. If you do keep the neons, try to get another 4+, since they're best kept in schools.

Hope that helps! :thumbs:

I have two tanks with those dimensions both having krib(s), angels and apistos of varius types not a problem, just lots of plants and caves
