Hi All,

got my compressed kit today, quick question - can the co2 canister be laid down (well not flat horizontally) but it has like a carrying handle, if you lay it down the handle supports the unit well, its at a slight angle (the regulator being higher than the rest of the bottle slightly)

is this ok ? Im thinking because it compressed, as long as its not like upside down, it would be ok ?

Thanks,

Craig

Don't do it, it will explode.

I'm not entirely sure for these bottles but when I worked at a paintball wood when you fill the bottle sometimes you get liquid co2 inside the bottle this would then find a way through the valves and cause the bottle to blow its safety valve meaning we had to manually de-gass them or discard the bottle, I assume its much the same in normal bottles.

ahh ok, i shouldnt risk it then, if i fo lay it down, the top of the bottle is about 2 1/2 - 3 inches higher than the bottom, do you reckon that would be ok - having problems with working a way of standing it up

I wouldn't risk it personally, If you can find one get a raw plug and a "workshop hook" and attach this to the wall then use the handle of the bottle to hang it from the hook, I used to do it that way before I changed over to a fire extinguisher.
Alternatively you could slide it inside something with a flat base, I did use a washing up liquid bottom slid over the base so that it stood up for a little while.

cheers garuf, i know what you mean by saying its not worth the risk... washing up bottle is a good idea :) ill look at that now
