Hey all, I just made a co2 system out of a cola bottle. My local pet store employee said to use 3 cups sugar, 1 Tbsp yeast, 1 Tbsp baking soda. Is he right? I read on here that you use 2 cups of sugar.

And does it matter what type of yeast to use? I bought regular dry yeast.

yeah ive put a few post in here with no reply also but i think ive read it in forums here before its only two cups, and normal yeast would be fine i would amagine it all does the same thing.

I used 1/4 tsp of yeast with 2 cups of sugar. That was the recipie that came up most in my research. More sugar and it lasts longer... more yeast and it bubbles stronger. You don't actually need baking soda. People think it keeps the pH somewhat balanced in the bottle so the yeast lives longer, but I don't think there's been anything conclusive.
