Can anyone recommend a good two stage regulator?

I bought a D-D kit a few years ago which I believe is a single stage type. I buy the none-refillable co2 bottles from eBay and would like to continue to do so. The kit came with a pin wheel and solenoid so hopefully all I need is a new regulator.

The reason to change is that I've noticed that as the bottles get used up, the number of bubbles in the bubble counter can change quite dramatically. I was reading tombarr's CO2 forums and it seems to suggest that two stage will fix this issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

As the cannister empties it does often just dump the rest of the CO2 into the tank - it is a common problem. I'm not sure whether a dual guage reduces this effect as I have only ever used a dual gauge and I haven't really read anyone switching to one either.
I'm selling one if you want it, comes with a solenoid too.

Thanks, Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Is a dual guage the same as dual stage?

I was reading Mr Barr's thread on this forum about these. Apparently they keep the output pressure the same even when the bottle is almost finished. http://www.barrreport.com/showthread.php/6470-Dual-Stage-Regulators

I'm not too sure, I just assumed you meant guage.
TBH I'm not sure how you would tell, I don't know what mine is and I never knew there was different models lol, sorry. :good:

No worries. Turns out, mine is a two stage anyway! Been emailing the guys who I bought the product from. I've cleaned the solanoid and a few other tewaks and it's now fine.
