Looking at the Aquamas CO2 reactors, can anybody help me with the following:

Do any of their reactors take 12mm hose?

Some have what appears to be a bypass. What is the purpose of this?

Is the vent necessary? Does the reactor fill with CO2 over a period of time?

The Aquarinversand CO2 reactors are cheaper and more basic, without the above features. Can anybody using one of these give an assessment of their performance?

Cheers, Dave

Nobody out there got one?
Yep, busy weekend so have only just read your post. Got the Aquamas one, well the one without the bypass. It comes as standard with 16mm but the connectors are changeable so if you want 12mm then you just state this when you make a purchase.

The second one I know nothing about but comes with 12mm connectors.

The bypass is if you have a very powerful pump, so preventing too much water flow through the reactor.

The vent is essential IMO and makes life very easy for venting off trapped air when installing or after a clean.

The Aquamass one is the bees knees and I'd highly recommend it.

I ordered the Aquamas one from Ebay after James recomendation earlier last week. It has arrived, and I have not had time to fit it yet, but it is very good quality and looks fine. As James says, you just have to state you want 12mm connectors when ordering. I did not have to as my RENA XP3 pump has the 16mm hose.
I think the vent is a good idea as you are bound to get some air trapped after connecting for first time, let alone after filter maintenance.
Good luck with what ever you choose m8 :good:
