hello

i have a ten gall planted tank
i started useing co2 made from yeast and sugar in a bottle
im diffusing it through a bubble stone ... i know this isnt the best method....

my question is weather i should close the co2 in the night or is it ok to leave it going all the time?

never close the flow of co2 from a yeast based system, the bottle will blow up due to the build up of c02 gas.

I wouldn't think it would be fun cleaning up lol

you could always pull the air stone out of the water at night, whether that's a good thing i don't know, best wait for the guys that know there stuff to reply..

figured that .. but what i was really asking is abou thte co2 at night
....

thanks anyway

anyone else?

I run all on co2 tanks 24/7 no problems. Save yourself the hassle and leave it running during the night as well :)

i heard it can change the parameters of the water is this true?

if so is it safe to let it change that?

Correct, it will change the parameters.

it will lower the ph as CO2 dissolved in water forms carbonic acid which in low quantaties is fine. Your ph will inevitably drop to a certain level and then stabilise. Most people use drop checkers to ensure that the CO2 level does not become too high.

Check the planted section for pinned threads about CO2 etc.
