Hello

I still haven't got my Co2 sorted out in my tank :(

I was wondering the difference between all the £8.99 diffusers here. Also whether those diffusing ladders are better than these ones? I found one on ebay just the ladder, becasue i don't want to buy the whole Nutrafin Kit becasue partly i have not much money and i don't need the second bit of of it, i'll just use a DIY mixture. But i think my parents would prefer it if i bought from Aqua Essentials instead of ebay.

Thanks

I doubt there is a major difference in the diffusers of the same price

I bought one of the glass ones with the twirly thing inside :fun: . It won't work with my DIY CO2, it can't build up enough pressure. So the bubbles come out where the diffuser and airhose connect.

Ummm....well i wasn't really planning on get one of those :D The £8.99 ones look very simular to this, so i guess it'll work...

Thanks for the opinions you two.

I'd be interested to know if anybody has had any success using these glass diffusers with DIY CO2 systems.

Particularly the AquaEssentials Matrix or Aqua mini/cup diffusers.

If they work with DIY (and personally, I'm a bit doubtfull that they will) they it would certainly look better
than the bubble ladder, althought that ladder does work quite well.

I've also seen some good ideas posted for DIY 'inline diffusers' running on the return pipe of an external
filter .... anybody tried anything like this ?

This option (if it works) would remove the CO2 diffuser from the tank all together.

Well, I tried this on my own DIY CO2 the other day when my cylinder ran out, and hooked it up to my Aqua Mug Diffuser and having left it for a good few hours nothing was happening. So I dont think it works with large diffusers. They used the mini one after all.

I guess it could be something to do with the water pressure on the larger area in the bigger diffusers or the internal space of these but it definately didnt work. Haven't tried it on the mini to verify that it does work but from that post it would seem that it does.

Does anyone else have any other experiences with using them? From the link i and several others have linked to, it shows they do work...I think i'm gonna go for this one. What you think?

From my experience that'll be to big for DIY CO2, probably for the reason I said above. Thats said if you want to be a guinpig and try it out, let me know how you get on! I guess also if you hooked it up to 2 or 3 DIY kits and ran them all though the same diffuser it might be able to build up enough pressure?

Umm...thanks for the feedback. The one you reccomended Moody is a bit to expensive for me :(

:( I don't know what to do, now. I'm on a low budget i.e. The little pocket money i get being saved up. If the £8.99 work then that would be perfect for me. But i don't really like the sound of testing it, if it don't work, what will i do with it then?

It looks exactly like the one here so...
