I have had no problems getting 2.5 kg fire bottles recharged (local beer gas refill) but have had a problem with a 500g bioplast bottle. Lots of places will service jbl bottles but not bioplast.
As its a spare bottle i thought I'd give it a try.
Its a good test on the old ticker when your driving home and a co2 bottle dumps its load in the seat next to you  1- it scares the *!£$ out of you and 2- Its a tad hard to see where your going.
So my questions are
1- anyone know where you get safety valves redone .
2- get none jbl bottles recharged.
3- get my hands on some Valium :D

Haha  that good work! I can only imagine what havoc my 12lb pub cylinder would cause if that happened! I'm surprised you didn't pass out with all the extra CO2 in the air!

Sorry cant answer any of the questions for you, I know lots of people have trouble with non-JBL ones, its daft, surely they are all the same?

Very funny, but could have been otherwise.

One of my mates is an industrial chemist, and while he was a student got a job working on his year out at one of the ICI plants. Being the student he often got lumbered with crap jobs, and one day some of the workers needed a hand moving a load of pressurised cannisters - not CO2, but these were the large industrial bottles about 5' long.

Anyway, he lifted one bottle by the regulator which was fitted (bad move), and swung it up so it was cradled in his arms.
He swears that by the time he heard a loud whooosh the bottle was no longer in his arms, but had shot itself across the warehouse, through 2 stud partitions and finally embedded itself in the external brick wall !

Fortunately it didn't hit any of the staff working in the office.

I do believe that he also needed a change of trousers.

Very dangerous situation RYO you are lucky you didn't crash the car or worse!

Had you just got it refilled? obviously way too full for it to blow like that.

Zig it had just been refilled but they couldnt get a full charge in the thing.
A 500g bottle is stamped with 1.87 kg fill weight we got to 0.6kg and the machine would stop. They had no way of checking the pressure as its all done on weight, so i was off home to check. Mind there was no charge (pardon the pun). One good bit is they will do my fire bottle for free. Just got to nick eeeer :D i mean aquire another.
I have a jbl 500g too that ill use as a spare, just not sure what to do about the bioplast bottle. :/
