you do all know that andy is king and he is right, right? Oh and my ph has been down to 7.8 with no problems and at night time its quite common for ph to take a drop due to the buildup of CO2. Same with temp, temps change a lot in the wild and in tanks with no problems.
i agree with andy, when my tank was FOWLR it was easy, use his steps but skip the prawn ammonia etc and put some live rock in there and let ammonia and nitrite go to 0, some hardy corals, still very easy, until i started going to a harder coral route then it became harder than my planted tank.
This is just the basics, if you go deep into the facts and stuff (which isnt important, i jsut find it neat to know for general knowlege) there is the whole omega-3 diet differences, theres the whole osmotic pressure in and out of the fish, theres the whole drinking and flushing of cells vs something else. But those things you dont really need to worry about.
