Clownfish

you do all know that andy is king and he is right, right? Oh and my ph has been down to 7.8 with no problems and at night time its quite common for ph to take a drop due to the buildup of CO2. Same with temp, temps change a lot in the wild and in tanks with no problems.

i agree with andy, when my tank was FOWLR it was easy, use his steps but skip the prawn ammonia etc and put some live rock in there and let ammonia and nitrite go to 0, some hardy corals, still very easy, until i started going to a harder coral route then it became harder than my planted tank.

This is just the basics, if you go deep into the facts and stuff (which isnt important, i jsut find it neat to know for general knowlege) there is the whole omega-3 diet differences, theres the whole osmotic pressure in and out of the fish, theres the whole drinking and flushing of cells vs something else. But those things you dont really need to worry about.

King? I don't think so. I just tend to keep my eyes open and learn different (often simpler/cheaper) ways of doing things than the standard line peddled by most on this forum.

i agree with andy ... use his steps but skip the prawn ammonia etc and put some live rock in there and let ammonia and nitrite go to 0, some hardy corals, still very easy, until i started going to a harder coral route then it became harder than my planted tank.

But then you have created a FOWLR, not FO ;)

well i did say it was a FOWLR in my post... you just didnt quote that part :)

I do really respect andywg's wealth of knowledge - he certainly is royalty but not necessarily king and I enjoy readin the posts (especially your frog fish - that looks great)

With hindsight, I may have over exaggerated the differences - my bad and I did not wanna put the OP off. All this of course is based on the assumption that the OP does want FO, his first post would suggest that but you dont know what you dont know...

hey there, and welcome to ff. I'm no expert, but I really think you should start with something simple, like guppies. Millions of "nemos" die each year cause ppl dont know how to care for em.
