Clownfish?

It does sound like you really want a marine tank. Is this your fish fish tank? If so, just realize it's do able as a first, but it will take more work and much more research than a basic tropical community.

But, if you don't feel your ready for the extra care, you might want to consider a faux marine tank. You could buy the artificial corals, and I believe they even have fake starfish you could add. And you could add some pretty freshwater fish. Killifish, guppies, platys, dwarf gouramis. There are some very colorful freshwater shrimp, but you would most likely have to order them online.

Thanks for all your help!

I am just going to go around looking at different fish then research them later on when i get home. Setting up a marine tank sounds difficult and very expensive, so Im going to avoid that until I have the money and space, because Im new to it all, I just thought Id ask to see if theres any way of getting clownfish :p I'll report back with my findings in the next week. Are there any good online shops for fish/plastic corals?

look for clown loach. they are yellow and black striped and are fresh water. you can also get freshwater blennies, puffers and shrimp

You'd probably want to stay away from clown loaches. I believe a 40 gallon is considered too small for them. Puffers are not community fish, and you wouldn't be able to have frogs or shrimp with them.

You might want to look into tiger barbs. They have similar colorings to clownfish. People do have mixed results with them, however.

Liveaquaria.com usually is a pretty good place to order supplies and livestock from (from what I hear, anyway). And I found this place. Lots of interesting shrimp. :)
