Clown Tail Betta

Was checking out a few different petshops/fishshops we had never been to before just checking out their prices and range and darn we had a good chuckle. Two of them fairly close to each other (a couple of K's) had Clown Tail Betta's (thats what was written on the tank). When we asked the guy at the first one what a clown tail betta was he said a normal betta is ... (we all know I think) but a clown tail has tail and fins like so (and held up his hand and spread his fingers wide). We almost couldn't stop ourselves laughing, but when we got out boy did we have a good chuckle. The matter of fact way he talked about it I didnt have the heart (but maybe I should of) to tell him it was actually a cRown tail

there is actually such thing as a clown tail,
its like a crown tail except the pointy tails are larger and wider

Katchan, I'm on the Sunshine Coast and my LFS is great: clean water, healthy fish etc. although they label their crownies as 'clown tails' as well. One of the girls who works there is the same age as me and goes to my school. She saw me in there once and said hi. She wanted to show me some tanks she'd helped set up. So she took me over to this planted 40 gallon display tank; it was beautiful! I asked what fish were in there and she told me a BN plec, 5 zebra danios, and 6 runnynose tetras....

i always see stupid crap in my lfs, once they were selling some darker breed of convicts as dwarf oscar (they were not oscars) and then they were trying to pass of female bettas as a type of cichlid, had them marked up to 20 bux a peice too you would think that someone who opens a fish store would know somthing about fish
