I thought these guys were supposed to be shy and hide a lot.

From the species index "If you want to see your fish on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis the clown pleco probably is not for you."

I must have got a real performer. He can be seen all day, swimming into the bubbles and current, nibbling on wood, even venturing into the mid levels of the tank. When feeding time comes he will defend his food from a 5 or so inch SAE, and even my common plec thats about 7 inches long. He is also the only fish brave enough to venture into my large BGKs' log and does so unharmed. This is all pretty remarkable for a fish that's only about 2 and a half inches long. :good:

When he does loose his food to the common plec he sticks all his fins staight out and pushes his tail into the plecs face over and over again, usually driving him away. Is this some ingenious technique they have discovered or do i have a real "Clown" on my hands?

Sorry for the long rant but this goes against everything i've heard obout clown plecs and thought it was pretty cool. :p

Heh. That sounds great. I never had one. I have a bristlenose pleco and he pretty much hides durring the day.
