Clown Loachs In A Planted Tank

My amazon swords have hundreds of little holes in them from the clowns thinking there were snails on the plants when it was the light reflecting of.

I've never had trouble with loaches eating plants though they do like to dig them up a lot while rooting around on the bottom. I'd keep an eye out for a smaller botia loach: zebras, zippers and dwarf chain loaches all have the same personality as the clowns but are quite a bit smaller, that way you could keep a larger group. The more the merrier when it comes to loaches, I wouldn't keep fewer than three of a single species.

Ok,
So I took the plunge and bought 4 clown loaches for my tank, they are floating in the bag right now. I am going to see how they do. As far as out growing the tank goes, my uncle has a 90 gallon tank, so he will gladly take them once they out grow my tank. If, unfortunatly they do start to munch on the plants, my LFS has a very flexible return/trade in policy which I can take advantage of.

Wish me luck
