Clown Loaches

i have a 200 litre tank.

Would I be able to have some CLown loaches (thinking 3), would they be ok in with Angel fish? I have kept Angels before and have two small ones at present, as well as 3 corys, a keyhole and one honey gourami as well as an upsidedown catfish.

Clown loaches can reach over 30cm and need to be in large shoals to be happy. They really aren't suited to home aquariums and its a real shame to see so many go to owners and tanks that can't cope with them.

In that case I will not get them. I respect the fish to much.

anything else that you would suggest in their place? or that goes well with Angels, maybe something with nice colours that is more active.

i used to have a bolivian Ram with angels, one died and the other terrorised everything else including the angels, but everything i ave read says they are community fish?

WEll, I have had my 2 Clown Loaches since I started in this hobby. Started with a 30 gal, then 65 gallon , and lastly a 90 Gallon. I have had my 2 paired Angels just as long, prob 2 1/2 years now. I have never really had any problems with my Clown Loaches or Angels , except when my angel's laid eggs they would chase the clowns a bit but nothing serious. My 2 clown loaches are also now between 4" to 4 1/2 " and are very happy. Had them since they were very small. You will have to make sure in the long run you do have an aquarium that is large enough as they do get big from what I understand but I don't think they are fast growing.

Polka Dot Loaches. An absolute cracking fish with a somewhat cheeky character! Again, need to be shoals but only reach 10cm max! I have 3, but should have 5+ to be truthful. Possibly will get more :good:
