Clown loaches

just noticed you only have 1 clown loach in your tank.......clown loaches should be kept in groups of 3 or more......they need their friends to be truly happy :) ...then they are even more luvable.

1. Because they are skinned fishes.
2. All loaches rock!
3. They make clicking sounds when happy.
4. Touch one - they feel weird.
5. They are very enjoyable in groups.

Speaking of loaches, I want some dojo's but I can't find any where I live. :(

I have weather loaches Eelzor, they are very cool!! One of them is my favourite out of all my fish!

 Kentaro

As for clown loaches, I have four and they are great to watch. I don't find them very interactive and I much prefer my angels for that side of things.

Also, I am not sure about this as I have always heard different but... a book I have (it's a bit old though) by Dick Mills says that clown loaches do have scales they are just very small and so people think they have none at all!

I think they are skinned though, that's the only place I've read different.

I've also read from loaches.com that they have small scales (in clown loach experiences/recommendations)!

This may sound daft ... but are there skinless fish? Just don't understand the term "skinned"...

now i need another tank :)

i don't have any loaches

I have a lot of bottom feeders too. If you do want to move your kuhlis, good luck with finding them!

Put your clowns in and see how they get on, then take it from there.

HTH :)

Why are they so loverbul?
Because they look neat when they are small, but they aren't so neat when they have grown too big to fit in your tank. Adult fish can be over 30 to 40 cm long (12"-16"). And before they reach that size, they have already died :( Too small tanks and without friends. It's a fish that needs space and friends.

Unfortunately, clown loach is very popular fish and this causes problems: http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/biodiversitii/bio/a...arium_more.html

They now thinl Clown Loaches should be kept in a minimum of 6. I have 5 so I am nearly good but not their yet. I think they are better in groups of 6 but then someone could say they are better in a group of 20. I also find it better when theyare in even amounts.

I couldn never have clowns in my tank.

I love them but I can't really keep them in a large group - especially since I have my plec and my kuhlii's at the bottom as well.

:D gotta say that if i cud choose my fave fishes to put in my tank....it'd be a tank full of bottom feeders!!!!
