Hi im thinking about getting a pair for a 70 litre tank my concerns are is the tank large enough for them and will help with my snail infestation, also i dont know alot about these fish are they livebearers or do they lay eggs, and finally will they hunt down the young from the livebearers as upto now the few i left in the tank to see how they get on seem to be doing fine

They will eat snalis and may sometimes eat livebarer fry. They are an egg laying fish, that few people have got to spawn, let alone raise fry from. There is only one peson to produce proof of a spawning to date, without using horemones. Clown laoch can potentialy grow to 12 inch, though 8 is more common for captive specimins. They must be kept in groups too, so I would say that a 70 litre tank is too small. For an ideal group size of 6, I would personaly go with a 75 gal (approx 300litres) tank as a minimum.

Smaller Botias (same family as the clown loach) are or for that size tank. Something like a kulie loach mebe? but again they need to be in groups. They can max out at 6 inches, but 4inches or less is more common.
